CountryWatch · Version of 9 October 2026
Terms and Conditions
These terms apply whenever you subscribe to, pay for or use CountryWatch. Please read them before you subscribe: you must agree to them, and to our Privacy Policy, to complete a subscription.
1. About CountryWatch
CountryWatch is a quarterly service on Nigeria’s economic outlook, presented by Economic Associates and Proshare (“CountryWatch”, “we”, “us”). It is offered through four access modes: the Report, the Database, the Conference and the In-house Seminar, and through packages that combine them. In these terms, “you” means the person or organisation that subscribes, and anyone you give access to.
2. Your subscription and the three-month period
- Your paid term starts on payment confirmation. Choose monthly, quarterly (three months) or annual (twelve months) access. The exact expiry is disclosed before payment. Eligible annual purchases before January include immediate access through 31 December 2027.
- Your access appears in your subscriber area at countrywatch.co/account as soon as payment is confirmed. The start and end dates of each subscription are shown there.
- New editions during your period. Your access covers every edition and update of the products you subscribed to that is published during your paid term, read online in your subscriber area. You do not pay again for an edition that comes out while your access is running.
- When the period ends, access to all editions stops (including earlier ones) unless the subscription renews (section 4) or you subscribe again.
- A mode or package can only be bought once it is open for sale. Modes that are not yet open show “Notify me” or “Enquire” instead.
3. Prices, VAT and payment
- Prices are those on the Rate Card at the time you order. They exclude VAT, which is added at checkout at the current rate (7.5%). Quarterly advance payment receives 10% off and annual advance payment receives 20% off. Institutional discounts are 10% for 2–4 named users, 15% for 5–9, 20% for 10–24 and 25% for 25 or more. Bulk and prepayment discounts apply successively, not by adding percentages. Event-group discounts are 10% for 5–9 attendees and 15% for 10 or more; events are purchased per event, not as recurring subscriptions.
- A payment processing fee charged by the payment provider is shown at checkout before you pay and is added to your total.
- Naira payments are processed by Paystack (card, bank transfer or USSD) and US dollar payments by Flutterwave (card). Payments are collected on our behalf by our technology and payments partner. NGN and USD have separately fixed catalogues; USD prices are not live conversions from NGN.
- Withholding tax deducted by institutional buyers is treated as a tax credit, not as a reduction of the price.
- Your subscription starts only once the payment provider confirms your payment.
4. Renewal
New catalogue subscriptions renew manually. Existing explicitly authorised automatic-renewal arrangements retain their recorded terms. Cancelling renewal stops future charges while preserving access for the paid period. A future price change must be disclosed before the next purchase or renewal.
5. Cancellation and refunds
- How to cancel. Sign in to your subscriber area and use “Cancel a subscription” at the bottom of the page. You will be asked to confirm. Cancelling stops all future renewals.
- Your access continues. After you cancel, you keep full access until the end of the three-month period you have already paid for. We encourage you to use your subscription to the end of that period.
- No refunds. Payments for a period that has started are not refundable, in full or in part, including when you cancel during the period or do not use the service. This does not affect any right you have under Nigerian law that cannot be excluded.
- Payment errors. If you are charged twice for the same order, or charged in error, contact us and we will refund the amount charged in error.
- You can withdraw a cancellation before your period ends by choosing “Keep my subscription” in the same place.
6. Your account, seats and access
- Your email address is your username. Keep your password private. We may also email you a one-time code when you sign in, to confirm it is you.
- Each copy, user or seat you pay for is for one named person. Where you buy several, you can give colleagues access from your account; each colleague signs in with their own email and password.
- Database access is personal and non-transferable unless an institutional arrangement is agreed in writing.
- Reports and data are provided to read online in your subscriber area, because CountryWatch updates them as conditions change. Where a download is offered, the file is password-protected, may be marked with your name and a copy number, and may later be superseded by an updated version.
- We may suspend access if we reasonably believe an account is being shared beyond the seats paid for, or these terms are being broken.
7. Permitted use of the content
All CountryWatch content (reports, data, models, charts, conference and seminar materials) remains the property of CountryWatch and its contributors. You may use it for your own organisation’s internal analysis and decision-making. Unless we agree in writing, you may not:
- share, resell, publish or forward the content, files or passwords to anyone who does not have their own access;
- remove or alter the name, copy number or other markings on any file;
- copy substantial parts of the content into a product or service offered to others, or use automated tools to extract the data.
Short quotations with clear attribution to “CountryWatch” are welcome.
8. Conference and In-house Seminar
- Conference. Attendance, in person or on Zoom, is by prior reservation and confirmation. Your ticket appears in your subscriber area. If we have to change the date, venue or format, we will tell you as early as we can, and your booking moves to the new arrangement. Speakers and programme may change.
- In-house Seminar. A Seminar is never paid online. Scope, participants, date, venue, format and price (including the minimum number of participants) are set in a written proposal agreed with the host organisation, and that proposal’s terms apply.
9. Not investment advice
CountryWatch is for information only. It does not constitute investment, financial, legal or tax advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any asset or to enter into any transaction. Outlooks and forecasts are judgements about an uncertain future and may turn out to be wrong. You remain responsible for your own decisions and should take professional advice where appropriate.
10. Liability
- We prepare CountryWatch with care, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, accurate or free of error, or that the service will always be available without interruption.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from the use of or reliance on CountryWatch.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any subscription is limited to the amount you paid for that subscription period.
11. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may improve or change CountryWatch, including its content, features and Rate Card. Price changes apply to new orders and to renewals after we have told you. We may update these terms; the version and date at the top of this page show which applies, and the version you agreed to is recorded with your order. Material changes will be notified by email before they apply to a renewal.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction over any dispute, which we will first try to settle with you in good faith.
