Nigeria Economic Outlook · Quarterly CountryWatch Service

One outlook.
Four ways to engage it.

CountryWatch is a forward-looking quarterly service on Nigeria’s economic outlook. It combines a common analytical engine with four access modes so decision-makers can read the evidence, model it, debate it and apply it inside their own organisations.

Why Nigeria? Why CountryWatch?

Four connected pillars: places, people, products and portfolio.

CountryWatch examines what Nigeria has, who can put those strengths to work, what it produces and what its assets could become worth when productively deployed. Read the Report, explore the Database, discuss strategic implications at the Conference and apply the findings through the Seminar.

Places

Natural and built capital.

People

Who can put those strengths to work.

Products

What it produces.

Portfolio

What its assets could become worth when productively deployed.

Across 36 states and the FCT, CountryWatch examines 46 sectors within four clusters—Industrial, Infrastructure, Commercial and Human Capital—and follows the implications for companies and citizens. Goods, ideas, talent and money connect this national picture to the world. The Q4 2026 edition is organised in seven modules: browse all 41 sections →

The five-lens analytical engine

Reforms → Outcomes → Impact → Shocks → Outlook

CountryWatch follows the transmission from policy reform to economic outcomes, from outcomes to their effects on states, sectors, companies and citizens, and then to the shocks that could alter the trajectory and the outlook that follows.

Reforms

Follow policy changes in foreign exchange, public finance, financial markets and sector supply, and examine how implementation shapes the response.

  • Fiscal
  • Monetary
  • Trade
  • Regulatory
  • Institutional

Question What changed in policy or implementation?

Outcomes

Read the evidence on liquidity, price stability, output growth and welfare, with a clear distinction between measured results and data gaps.

  • Liquidity
  • Price stability
  • Growth
  • Welfare

Question What measurable macro outcomes are emerging?

Impact

Compare how economic change reaches states, sectors, companies and citizens. National averages are a starting point for understanding different experiences.

  • States
  • Sectors
  • Companies
  • Citizens

Question Who is gaining, repositioning or falling behind?

Shocks

Trace global, continental and national developments through trade, finance, prices and confidence to understand Nigeria’s exposure.

  • Global
  • Continental
  • National
  • Transmission channels

Question What could change reforms, outcomes or impact?

Outlook

Explore the framework for baseline, upside and downside scenarios and the signposts used to assess them. Forecasts and scenario analysis require Premium Report access.

  • Baseline
  • Upside
  • Downside
  • Signposts

Question What trajectory follows, and what should decision-makers watch?

Summaries are open to everyone. Basic access—currently free includes the executive summary and designated retrospective sections. Fuller histories and analysis follow your product entitlement. Forecasts require Premium Report access.

Transmission logic. Reforms → Outcomes → Impact. Shocks can alter any point in that chain; Outlook converts the evidence and the risks into conditional paths.

Four ways to engage CountryWatch

Read it. Model it. Debate it. Apply it.

One outlook, four access modes. Choose how you want to engage the evidence.

  • Stable architecture — readers compare turning points without relearning the framework.
  • Charts, tables and commentary — charts show direction, tables expose the evidence, and concise commentary explains what changed and why it matters.
  • Evidence discipline — distinguishes what the evidence already establishes from what must await subsequent data releases.
  • Built for use — designed to be read, cited, circulated internally and revisited when decisions are made.

How CountryWatch measures impact
